Wyoming Population Demographics
With an approximate population of 585,000, Wyoming is the least populated state in the United States. 92.3% of its population are Whites, while Asians and black people or African Americans each account for 1.2% of the population.
In 2020, the median age exceeded 43 years in 10 of Wyoming's 23 counties. Most of these counties have small populations and are situated in rural areas. In the same year, the three counties with the highest median ages were Platte (49.1), Hot Springs (48.9), and Johnson (48.0), where over a quarter of the residents were aged 65 or older. Conversely, Albany County had the lowest median age at 29.1, followed by Campbell County at 34.8 and Sweetwater County at 36.4.
